Clonmel Town FC would like to send a huge congratulations to our Club Captain Stephen Kelly who received his 1st International cap for the Irish Army team against their French counterparts last week. Playing for your country is a huge honour and the Club along with Stephen's family, team mates and friends are extremely proud of his achievements. Seeing how Stephen represents our Club every week with courage, determination, leadership and top class defending, it is no surprise to us that this great honour has come his way. In the game itself which was played on Home Farm's pitch in Whitehall, underdogs Ireland raced into a 2 goal lead only for France to pull back level in the 2nd half. Ireland held on for a creditable 2-2 draw against a French outfit who boasted 4 former professional footballers in their ranks. Well done Ireland and well done Stephen Kelly.
